The Opus Pocus Activity Pack was created by Rhonwen Jones and Marged Jones.

Rhonwen is a former bassoonist and primary school teacher, now working in the Education Department at BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

Marged is a former cellist and now a bilingual primary school teacher with Welsh as her first language.

Tailored to KS1&2: Listening, Comprehension, Music, Literacy, Art & Drama

The activity pack is separated into four sections, each with detailed lesson plans including learning objectives and relevant resources:

Listening & Comprehension: getting to know the story.

Music: learn musical vocabulary, use music to describe a character, compose a musical accompaniment to a script/scene.

Literacy (Writing): gather figurative language, use show instead of tell sentences, write a character description.

Art: learn how to design and draw a cartoon character, illustrate a comic-book
scene, perform the scene to the class (Drama).

Step-by-step powerpoint presentations with embedded audio
and media resources

Each lesson is set out as a powerpoint presentation for ease of use.

Audio clips are embedded in each powerpoint file or clearly labelled as MP3 in the lesson resource folder.

Additional PDFs for lesson plans and any other resources.
